Menopause & Me: Rest, Release & Rebalance
Menopause and Me is back — our friendly, no-pressure menopause support meet-up run by me, Sammy from That’ll Be Menopause, and hosted after hours by the gorgeous local family-run café, The Helm in Amble.
Which means we get the place to ourselves again. No awkward whispering about aching joints over someone’s Americano. No pretending your shoulders aren’t living somewhere near your ears. Just us, the kettle, the cake, and a room full of people who get it.
This session is all about rest, release, nervous system calm, and giving your poor overworked body a bit of attention that doesn’t involve Googling symptoms at 2am and frightening yourself into another cup of tea.
We’re delighted to welcome Rachel Hunter, a reflexologist, who’ll be joining us to talk about reflexology, relaxation, and supporting wellbeing through touch-based therapy.
Because let’s be honest — when menopause has you wired, tired, sweaty, achy, snappy, foggy, and wondering whether your body has been replaced by a second-hand machine with missing instructions, anything that helps us pause and reconnect is worth talking about.
We’ll also be joined by Ann, a massage and therapeutic therapist, who brings her experience in supporting people through bodywork, tension release, relaxation, and therapeutic care.
Ann will be sharing insight into how massage and therapeutic support can help people feel more grounded, more comfortable, and a little less like they’re carrying the emotional weight of six group chats, three life crises, and one badly behaved hormone system.
What to expect:
- A warm welcome — no need to perform, come as you are
- Gentle, judgement-free conversation
- Space to share, or space to simply sit and breathe
- Practical support and community connection
- Guest speaker insight without the jargon
- Real talk, real support, and absolutely no patronising waffle
This isn’t medical advice, and we’ll always encourage you to speak to a qualified healthcare professional for anything clinical. But it is a safe, supportive space to feel heard, understood, and reminded that your body deserves care — not criticism.
Bring yourself. Bring a mate if you need backup. Bring your questions, your aches, your tension, your brain fog, your hot flushes, your shattered sleep, and whatever version of you turns up on the day.
The café will have teas, coffees and cake available to buy on the night. No pressure, but it’s a lovely way to support them for opening up just for us.
Come as you are — we’ve got you.
