Menopause and Me is our friendly, no-pressure menopause support meet-up — run by me, Sammy from That’ll Be Menopause, and hosted after hours by the gorgeous local family-run café & deli, The Helm in Amble.
Which means we get the place to ourselves. No whispering about night sweats over someone’s oat latte. No awkward side-eye from a bloke doing Sudoku. Just us, the coffee, the cake, and a room full of people who get it.
This is your space to talk, listen, laugh, exhale, and feel a bit less alone in the chaos. Come for real talk, shared experiences, practical support, and the blessed relief of nobody saying, “Have you tried just relaxing?”
Honestly, Brenda, if relaxing fixed it, we’d all be horizontal and smug by now.
We’re also delighted to welcome two brilliant guest speakers to tonights meeting.
What to expect:
- A warm welcome — no need to perform, come as you are
- Gentle, judgement-free conversation
- Space to share, or space to simply sit and breathe
- Practical support and community connection
- Guest speaker insight without the jargon
- Real talk, real support, and absolutely no patronising waffle
This isn’t medical advice, and we’ll always encourage you to speak to a qualified healthcare professional for anything clinical. But it is a safe, supportive space to feel heard, informed, and less like you’re trying to decode your own body with a torch and a biscuit.
Bring yourself. Bring a mate if you need backup. Bring your questions, your rage, your brain fog, your curiosity, your sense of humour — whatever turns up on the day.
The café will have teas, coffees and cake available to buy on the night. No pressure, but it’s a lovely way to support them for opening up just for us.
Come as you are — we’ve got you.
